RESCUE DIVER COURSE

picture

The PADI Rescue Diver course provides an interesting and challenging introduction to the serious subject of accident prevention and management. As a PADI Rescue Diver your focus on safe diving is extended beyond yourself and your buddy to include other divers in the area. You will learn to observe, identify, and prevent potential diving accidents, and how to react should an accident or incident occur. Some of the areas elaborated and trained upon include Stress management, Panic diver management, direct intervention techniques, and Skin and Scuba diving Rescue techniques.

The Rescue Diver course emphasizes flexibility in adapting the rescue diver to different diving environments and personal situations. This is accomplished through carefully planed and sequential training scenarios that push the philosophy of there being more than one correct way of performing a rescue.

This course is for the diver who wants to; have more confidence in their diving and rescue abilities, continue their diving education, or be the safest diver they can be.

Prerequisite: Adventure diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, or equivalent from another organization. Current EFR status (First Aid and CPR training) May be completed during the first week of the course. 20 dives by the end of the course.

Duration: four Days (two weekends: one at the pool and one at the beach). Knowledge development: 6 hours. Rescue Training in the pool 12 hours, Open Water Rescue Scenarios 8 hours.
